Parents scramble to find new school after day care shuts down
Some Bronx parents are scrambling to find an alternative spot for their kids after a day care program was shut down with little notice.
Instead of homework, students brought home a letter from the NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene informing parents the operations at Philip H. Michaels Child Development Center pose a risk to the safety and health of the students,
Parents say they have been told it has nothing to do with the building itself, like mold or asbestos, and that it has to do with administration problems.
A representative for the school told News 12 it's been closed because they don't have enough teachers, but sources and some parents are saying the faculty at the school doesn't treat the students properly, and the city has been investigating them for months

In the letter sent to parents, it states the school must submit what's called a corrective action plan, which the city will review and approve.
There is no word on how long that could take.
