Parkchester business owners scramble to relocate
Several Parkchester business owners who say they were all evicted after a developer purchased their locations from a previous landlord are scrambling to relocate after the 30-day deadline came and went.
The businesses are all located along Unionport Road. Owners say that 30 days isn't enough time to pack up and move shop.
News 12 previously reported that they were all supposed to be out by the beginning of July, but the owners say they are having trouble finding available storefronts and affordable rents on such short notice.
According to published reports, the property was sold to Pinnacle Group in a deal worth an estimated $15 million. Those same reports say the buyer plans to demolish all structures, although no official plans have been filed.
Many of the business owners say they are prepared to go to court in order to buy more time.
