Parkchester residents gathered Friday evening to protest what they say is a lack of MTA service in their neighborhood.

Community members carried signs reading "We deserve better" or asking "Where are our officers?" 

The protesters asked for improved bus service. They say they commonly see out-of-service buses in the area. And wait times are another issue for residents there, who say it sometimes takes buses up to 30 minutes to get them to their final destination.

The MTA says it’s taking this issue seriously and will be announcing a plan to improve bus services next month.
