Bronx Lebanon Hospital Center is used to seeing sick patients, but sick trees are becoming an issue right outside of the medical center.

When they're healthy, they're a sight to behold. But when they're sick, they're an eyesore. From unsightly holes, to peeling bark, even gaps in the trunks so large they turn trees into trash cans.

The Mount Eden Malls Park is full of both hospital workers and residents most days. One hospital worker says she hopes drastic measures aren't needed.

A Parks Department employee was at the park Tuesday checking each tree. The Parks Department told News 12 all of the trees appear to be structurally sound, but some decay was found.

In a statement, the Parks Department said, "We have done a sweep inspection of the area, and the most severe defects will be addressed within the next 30 days."
