Part of Route 18 was shut down on Wednesday morning because of multiple car crashes.
One left lane was closed on Route 18 southbound near the Garden State Parkway in Tinton Falls. Monmouth County Sheriff Shaun Golden says seven people were injured, ranging from minor to serious.
Due to the extensive cleanup, the ramp from Route 36 to Route 18 southbound was shut down for hours as was traffic heading eastbound on 18 between Route 34 and the Parkway.
A pair of trucks collided, scattering parts and leaving both vehicles disabled in the grass and mud further west on Route 18A.
Garas Transportation reported two bus crashes. The company tells News 12 both drivers were not injured, and no children were on board.
