Pastor defends himself against sexual abuse allegations
A Bronx pastor charged with sexual abuse quoted a verse from the Bible in his defense as he left criminal court Thursday with his wife.
Pastor Franklin Porterfield is accused of forcibly touching a female church member inside his home back in July 2014. The verse he quoted stated that the "Lord laughth at the enemy because they will see their day."
The alleged victim filed a restraining order against the Faith Love Community Church pastor. The accuser has told investigators that she used to look up to Porterfield as a father figure.
Porterfield has been charged with forcible touching, sexual abuse and harassment.
He is due back in court on July 9.
