A Bronx photographer is using his art to spread awareness of mental health issues.
Jose Ramon Medina, who has his own battle with loss and post-traumatic stress, says his photos inspired him to search for solace through the lens of his camera.
"I created this project to not only heal myself, but to probably also to invoke emotions in others," he says.,” he says.
Medina’s White Shirt Project features pictures of about 40 models from all walks of life alongside their interviews with Medina.
The one constant is the white shirt each one wears.
The photos are displayed at the Mott Haven Bar and Grill on June 23 or his website.
