Police: 12-year-old robbed at gunpoint by 2 possible teens in Wakefield

A 12-year-old was allegedly robbed at gunpoint in broad daylight in Wakefield earlier this month.
Police say it happened on Jan. 16 at the intersection of Monticello and Nereid avenues.
They say two suspects, caught on surveillance video, approached the 12-year-old around 3 p.m.
Police say one suspect removed the victim’s iPhone from his pocket and demanded his password, while the other suspect pointed a gun at the boy's head before taking off with his phone.
Investigators say the persons of interest are believed to be between 15 and 18 years old.
They say one was last seen wearing blue sneakers and the other was dressed in all black.
The incident has caused concern for several parents due to the proximity to Mount Saint Michael Academy.
Neighbors tell News 12 that robberies have been happening in the area.
