Authorities say two men were shot at Mott Playground late Wednesday afternoon.
Police say the shooting happened at the park between Findlay and College avenues shortly before 5 p.m.
They say an 18-year-old was shot in the neck and a 20-year-old was shot in the torso. They were both rushed to the hospital.
Investigators say they believe the shooting started after an argument at the Morrisania playground.
The playground is near two Bronx schools.
The Department of Education issued a statement to News 12 that said "Out of an abundance of caution, JHS 22 and the IS 184 campus were briefly placed on shelter-in due to off-site, non-school related activity. Safety is our top priority and the shelter-in has been lifted."
Neighbors in the area tell News 12 there were children at the playground when the shots were fired.
While the playground is the main focus of the police investigation, police are also checking nearby buildings for surveillance video. Police are searching for a man who fled on College Avenue. They say the man was wearing dark pants and a dark hoodie.
