Police say two suspects assaulted a passenger and the driver on an MTA bus.
The incident happened Jan. 23 near Bruckner Expressway and Pelham Parkway as the Bx29 bus was coming from City Island.
Police say a woman struck a 24-year-old passenger in the head with a screwdriver following a dispute. When the 56-year-old bus driver noticed what was going on and stopped the vehicle, authorities say the victim was dragged off the bus by the hair and kicked in the head by a man. They say that man then ordered the bus operator to drive off, but when the driver refused, the man struck the driver on the side of the head with an umbrella.
Before the pair boarded the Bx29 bus, it's believed that they were eating at a seafood restaurant on City Island and were asked to leave because they were rowdy.
Both victims were treated for their injuries at NYC Health + Hospitals/Jacobi.
Police ask anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
