Three men were injured  after falling down an elevator shaft where they were working in Downtown Brooklyn.
The accident happened in a residential building along Tillary Street. The Department of Buildings told News 12 that the workers fell from the fourth floor down to the basement.
Residents say they haven't been using the elevator because it has been undergoing renovations since April. A work permit for the elevator was also seen on the front of the building.
The DOB says the men were on a working platform in the shaft when it gave way and sent the workers falling to the basement.
News 12 is told the workers suffered broken bones. At least one reportedly broke their leg.
The FDNY says they are expected to be OK. The men were taken to Methodist Hospital to recover.
