Police say one person has died following a seven-car pileup crash in Plainview.
Police say 71-year-old John Purdue, of Uniondale, died at the hospital after the crash on Old Country Road.
According to police, the man rear-ended a driver turning left onto Route 135 on Thursday around 2 p.m.
That crash caused a chain reaction, involving seven cars in total.
A total of five people were hospitalized.
Police have not identified the man killed.
