Police: 5 injured in 4 separate Morris Heights shootings
Police say shots rang out in four separate shootings in Morris Heights that happened less 24 hours of each other.
In one incident, police say two men approached a victim in what is being investigated as an attempted armed robbery. They say one of the men shot the victim, striking him in the back and buttocks. Police temporarily shut down Grand Avenue Saturday afternoon. Emergency service units transported the wounded man to St. Barnabas Hospital in stable condition.
In another incident, police say a man wearing a mask fired a gun multiple times, striking two men in their 20s.
About 15 minutes later, officials say a 35-year-old man got into an argument with a man on Popham Avenue. That man then shot him in the neck and arm before running off.
Police say another incident happened around midnight. They say a 28-year-old arrived at the hospital with a gunshot wound to the hip after being shot on Featherbed Lane.
Police are now working to determine if the latest shooting on Grand Avenue is related to the others.
Police say all five victims are expected to be OK.
No arrests have been made in any of the cases.
Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
