Police: 6 students hospitalized after eating brownies laced with unknown substance
Six female students were sent to the hospital after eating brownies that were laced with an unknown substance, according to police.
Police say they were called to Charter High School for Law and Social Justice around 12:15 p.m. Tuesday for sick students. The students were suffering pain and vomited after eating the brownies. The high school was placed on lockdown as police investigated.
The students, all between the ages of 15 and 16, were taken to Bronx-Lebanon Hospital, where they are now in stable condition.
Officials say an 18-year-old male student was taken into custody with charges pending. An upperclassman told News 12 that she saw the student handing out brownies earlier in the day.
