An 85-year-old woman is dead after being hit by a car.

Police responded to the scene near East Tremont Avenue and Miles Avenue shortly after 1 p.m. on Sunday, Dec.16.

Police found the victim, now identified as Maria Frasca, conscious and alert with head trauma. She was then transported to NYC Health + Hospitals Jacobi in stable condition. She later died at the hospital.

Police say a 44-year-old woman was making a left turn onto East Tremont Avenue when her vehicle hit the victim. She remained on the scene.
