Police: Auto shop owner killed after abduction in the Bronx
Police say an auto shop owner found with a zip tie wrapped around his neck was killed after being abducted earlier this week.
Authorities say 36-year-old Robert Bishun was abducted from his shop on Tuesday night by two men and transported in the back seat of his BMW six miles away to Fieldston.
Police say they found him with the zip tie wrapped around his neck, and he was pronounced dead at a hospital.
According to a New York Daily News report, Bishun was supposed to testify in two weeks as a "cooperating witness" against 34-year-old suspended NYPD Officer Merlin Alston.
The Daily News says it is believed Alston may have allegedly ordered two men to kill Bishun.
Alston, who is facing narcotic conspiracy charges, was out on bail when the murder happened, but the bail has now been revoked.
The suspended NYPD officer had been helping and driving Bishun over a four-year period. Bishun was also recently incarcerated for three years for running a heroin operation out of his auto body shop.
The report also says that Alston's lawyer says there is no evidence linking him to the murder.
