Police: Couple uses child as decoy in Fordham robbery
A man and a woman robbed a Marshalls in Fordham Monday by using a child as a decoy, police say.
Officials say around 1:30 p.m. Monday, the two began putting various items into a stroller, all while they were pushing a child inside.
When they tried to leave without paying, authorities say a store employee realized and approached them.
Authorities say they did not apologize or try to put items back. Instead they took out a handgun in front of the entire store, with the child still in the stroller. They were able to flee the scene.
No one was hurt, according to officials.
Police believe both the man and the woman are in their early to mid-20s. Investigators are still searching for the two suspects.
