Police: Driver killed; passenger critically injured in Crown Heights crash

A taxi driver was on the scene and managed to pull the passenger out of the vehicle while it was still on fire.

A man was killed, and another person is in critical condition following an accident in Crown Heights, police say.
The driver of a Maserati lost control of his vehicle Friday evening, struck a pillar and the car then burst into flames.
Police have closed off an intersection of Rochester and Atlantic avenues.
 The vehicle was crushed to pieces and badly burnt. A taxi driver was on the scene and managed to pull the passenger out of the vehicle while it was still on fire.
Police say the driver of the Maserati was killed. Officials say the passenger was taken to Brookdale Hospital and is expected to recover.
