A man has been arrested and accused of killing his ex-girlfriend after slitting her throat with a knife inside of her mother's Soundview apartment.

Darrin Rose, 22, was arrested in connection to the death of 22-year-old Zoila Feliz, according to police.

Feliz was pronounced dead at her Stratford Avenue apartment around 12:48 a.m. Wednesday.

Police responded to the home and found the 22-year-old woman unconscious with her neck cut open.

Feliz's mother tells News 12 she was locked out of the house when she came home so she used the building's fire escape before making the gruesome discovery.

Feliz's mother says she found her daughter's body next to her 2-year-old grandson who was just feet away. The victim's 2-year-old son was not injured. Rose is the father of the child, according to police.

The 22-year-old faces murder, manslaughter, assault and criminal possession of a weapon charges.
