Police: Love triangle eyed in Allerton murder
The 20-year-old woman gunned down in broad daylight Thursday in Allerton fell victim to a so-called love triangle, police say.
As News 12 has reported, Kimberly Velasquez was fatally shot in the torso on Waring Avenue near the Pelham Bay Houses at around 3 p.m.
Velasquez's family lives on Claflin Avenue.
Authorities say Velasquez was not the intended target. Police say the alleged shooter was firing at a man who was walking with Velasquez.
Police say that the suspect was dating a woman who was a former lover of the target.
No arrests have been made, but police are searching for the suspect.
