Police make arrest in Longwood stabbing
Police have made an arrest in a stabbing Friday morning in Longwood that left one woman injured.
Rebecca Clerville, 18, was arrested on an assault charge.
According to witnesses, Clerville and the 40-year-old victim were seen arguing on the corner of Westchester and Intervale avenues prior to the stabbing. The fight apparently had been going on since 3 a.m.
Authorities say the suspect and victim live at a shelter located at 941 Intervale Ave. They tell News 12 that the stabbing occurred near the train station on Westchester Avenue, but witnesses say that once the victim was stabbed, she ran toward the shelter for help. That's when police were called to the scene.
Police say the woman is listed in stable condition at Lincoln Hospital.
