Police have released new information about a man they say attempted to kidnap a 16-year-old girl in Mount Eden.
The incident happened on Saturday on the Grand Concourse and East Clark Place around 6 a.m.
Police say the man who came up from behind the 16-year-old girl as she was walking to the subway spoke with a heavy foreign accent.
He placed the teen in a chokehold and told her he had a gun and a knife, according to police.
Detectives say the man attempted to drag the girl into a black colored sedan, but lost his balance and they both fell to the ground.
The teen bit the suspect before running away from her would-be captor, according to police.
She was taken to Bronx Lebanon Hospital with a minor cut to the side of her face.
The suspect is described as a 30 to 40-year-old man, bald and has a mustache and speaks with a heavy accent.
Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
