A 29-year-old Bronx man has been arrested after his four-wheeler and a police car collided on Sunday evening.
Officials say the police car was heading northbound on Webster Ave approaching 233rd Street when it hit the Yamaha ATV head on just before 6 p.m.
They say the ATV veered into the police car because it went over the double yellow line and came into their lane.
The driver of the ATV, 29-year-old Gerardo Aguilera was arrested and charged with assault on a police officer, reckless endangerment, unauthorized use of a vehicle, resisting arrest, obstruction of governmental administration, failure to obey traffic device.
Aguilera and two police officers were taken to an area hospital with minor injuries for treatment.
Aguilera's family said he was hit when the police car tried to stop them by accelerating into them. They say Aguilera is at Jacobi Hospital with injuries that include heading trauma and a broken hip
