Police arrested a customer who allegedly shattered the front door of a Kingsbridge bodega.
The incident happened early Saturday morning when a man walked into the Sedgwick Deli Grocery and asked for a cigar. When the clerk told that customer to wait until he finished making coffee for another customer, the man allegedly jumped over the counter and took the cigar.
Another employee tried to stop the suspect from leaving, while the man told him to wait there because he's getting something from his car.
That employee then called the police, thinking the suspect was getting a gun. About 10 minutes later, the suspect threw a glass bottle at the store, destroying the front door.
The bodega owner told News 12 the suspect shops there every so often and always seems to be angry.
"He just comes inside with a mad face and just asks for whatever he wants and just leaves," he said. "Hopefully he gets whatever he deserves and I hope he pays me back whatever I lost."
The owner also said that when police arrested the man, he started screaming and they put him into an ambulance.
