Police say a man was critically injured after being hit by a car while trying to cross the Cross Bronx Expressway.
They say it happened at around 3 a.m. Friday near Third Avenue.
Officials say they are still unsure why the man was crossing the expressway and if the person who hit him remained on the scene.
The 25-year-old was rushed to Jacobi Medical Center.
