Police: Man fatally shot, 2 others stabbed in brawl outside club
One man is dead and two others are injured after a brawl broke out at a Mott Haven club early Sunday morning.
Police say it happened just before 4 a.m. on East 138th Street and Third Avenue in front of Oze Tavern.
They say 29-year-old Kareem Allen of Harlem died after being shot in the stomach.
Two other men, a 27-year-old and a 30-year-old, were taken to NYC Health + Hospitals/Lincoln for stab wounds. They are expected to be OK.
Authorities say two men in their early 30s have been taken into custody with charges pending. Their identities haven't been released.
Residents say Oze Tavern has only been open for a few months, but has been at the center of several problems lately.
"It's terrible," says one resident, who did not want to be identified. "It's a terrible situation. It's a nice neighborhood and there's this bar across the street is always causing problems and it's the only thing that's wrong with this neighborhood right now - that bar."
