A Bronx man shot himself in the head in the back of a New York City taxicab in the early hours of Monday morning, police say.
Officials tell News 12 the incident happened near the intersection of 93rd Street and Amsterdam Avenue on the Upper West Side around 2:40 in the morning.
The New York Post says the driver was about 15 blocks from the passenger's destination when he heard a gunshot. That's when he turned around and saw the man bleeding and called 911.
Police are withholding the victim's name until his family has been notified.
