A 25-year-old Massapequa woman is accused of dragging and running over her mother with a car after a dispute.
Police say the fight started inside a house on County Line Road in Massapequa around 1 p.m. Thursday, and then continued into a car in the driveway.
They say the unidentified mother tried to grab her pocketbook out of the car, but was dragged down the driveway when her daughter, Shaquay Minter, hit the gas.
Officials say the mother and daughter were involved in a prior domestic incident in 2012. In December 2017, the mother got an order of protection to keep her daughter away.
Prosecutors say the mother suffered a punctured lung and lacerated liver. They say Minter and her mother were "possibly squatting" at the home.
A spokesman for the town of Oyster Bay confirms to News 12 that the owner of the home passed away and there have been numerous complaints about people living there illegally. News 12 also saw a PSEG worker arrive at the house, where there is no working electric meter. He then cut off the electric supply from the main utility pole so electricity could not be stolen.
Neighbors say they have complained to police about the house.
Minter was held on $250,000 bond.
