Police are searching for the suspect who attacked a bus driver near 161st Street and River Avenue.

Police are searching for the suspect who attacked a bus driver near 161 Street and River Avenue.
Officials say the incident happened July 30 around 3 p.m. when a 54-year-old MTA worker was on route on the Bx6 bus.
He told authorities he got into argument with the man seen on security footage wearing a red T-shirt.
The altercation quickly escalated when police say the passenger threw an unknown substance in the bus driver's face before hopping off the bus and fleeing on his bike. 
The bus driver he was taken to the hospital where he was treated for irritation to his eyes and mouth.
Police are offering up to a $2,500 reward for tips that lead to an arrest.
New York State law says assaulting a bus operator is a felony and is punishable by up to seven years in prison.
