Police are searching for a group of men wanted in connection to a fatal shooting in Kingsbridge.
The shooting happened at around 12:30 a.m. Friday by an IHOP near the corner of West 232nd Street and Broadway.
News 12 is told Nicholas Vargas, 22, was shot in the head while sitting in his black Honda after he got into an argument with two to three men.
Authorities tell News 12 Vargas drove six blocks down Broadway to 238th Street before coming to a stop where police ultimately found him unconscious. He was later pronounced dead at Allen Hospital.
Police are also looking for two women who may have witnessed the shooting.
Surveillance video shows the two women looking behind their backs just before walking into Kingsbridge Smoke Shop and Candy. They then are seen again looking behind themselves in the back of the store.
Both women were later spotted fleeing the scene.
Residents say they have to remember to stay cautious after an incident like this.
"You hear something like that--it's scary," says Emilio Flores. "I'm surprised because it's a really safe neighborhood--nothing ever happens here."
Vargas was a father of two and family members tell News 12 he had another one on the way.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
