Police seek ID of Morrisania attempted rape suspect
The NYPD has released video of a suspect wanted in the attempted rape of a 74-year-old woman in Morrisania.
The suspect is seen in surveillance video entering the building on Park Avenue and walking into an elevator, followed by the victim, who enters with her walker.
The woman was walking to her 11th-floor apartment when she says the man grabbed and squeezed her. She managed to get free and says she knocked on a neighbor's door, causing the suspect to run off.
Wanted flyers are now plastered throughout the building and in the surrounding area of 161st Street and Park Avenue.
Building tenants say the front door is kept open during the day and is locked at night. A security guard is stationed during the evening. The attempted rape happened around 10:45 p.m. Friday.
A police van has since been stationed on the block.
