Three out of four lanes on the westbound side of the Long Island Expressway are back open after a fiery crash Monday afternoon.
Police say the crash happened west of Exit 62 when a 2002 Jeep Liberty struck the median, overturned then burst into flames.
The driver, identified as Susan Denise, 56, of Farmingville, was pulled from the car by multiple good Samaritans who administered first aid.
She was then taken via helicopter to Stony Brook University Hospital where she remains in critical condition.
It's unclear what caused the crash.
