Police: Taxi driver slashed in the face by passenger in University Heights

Police are searching for the person they say slashed a taxi driver in the face in University Heights about a month ago.
News 12 is told the incident happened on Aug. 5 near Jerome Avenue and West 184th Street.
Police say the passenger hailed a taxi and then got into a fight with driver, punching him from the back seat.
When the driver pulled over, police say the suspect took out a box cutter and slashed him in the face before fleeing.
News 12 is told the driver was taken to the hospital and underwent surgery.
