Police: Third suspect in custody in Bronx street vendor beating
Police say a third suspected assailant of a Hub street vendor has been taken into custody. He turned himself in early Thursday evening, hours after the second suspect, Enrique Foote, was also taken into custody.
The first suspect, William Bergess, was arrested after he surrendered at the 40th Precinct earlier in the week. There are five men connected to the assault in all, police say.
The men appeared in a video showing the brutal beating of Souleymane Porgo, 53, at East 149th Street and Third Avenue on May 2.
Bergess is being charged with gang assault, but charges have not been announced against the other suspect.
Porgo has undergone at least two reconstructive surgeries to his skull for damage sustained during the attack.
