Political analyst Lawrence Otis Graham passed away at the start of the weekend.
On every election night for the past decade, his sharp political insights were on full display on News 12.
He passed away suddenly at the age of 59 on Friday.
While the circumstances are still unclear, what is certain is the tremendous impact he had on the News 12 family and our viewers.
Tributes poured in Sunday evening for the beloved author/activist/former congressional candidate and attorney who was known throughout the Hudson Valley and well beyond.
Westchester County Executive George Latimer broke the news of his untimely passing, saying he left an indelible mark while he was with us.
News 12's Scott McGee added that, 'he made the world a brigther place and today it is just a little bit darker.'
Lawrence's political activism even made it all the way to Hollywood. One of the 14 books the best-selling author wrote is in development for a TV series by a major television network.
Anyone who knew him knew that the title he was most proud of was husband and father. The last time News 12’s Tara Rosenblum spoke to him was a few weeks ago, when he was doting over his children's accomplishments and eager to hear about her family.
Graham was a Harvard Law School graduate and Horace Mann board member. He also served as the chairman of the Westchester County Police Board.
A public viewing is being held Friday at Lee's Funeral home in White Plains.
