A brewery in Port Morris hosted a Pride Month party Sunday to support a message of inclusion in the community.
The Bronx Brewery, opened in 2011, has earned a reputation for being LGBTQ+ friendly. Sunday afternoon, the brewery hosted its inaugural pride party with three DJs playing music in its outdoor space.
Floor manager Christine Correa says the brewery's inclusivity is just a stepping stone and hopes for it to create a domino effect for other Bronx spaces.
Patron Yasminah Flood says it's important for her and her friends to have a safe place to get together like the Bronx Brewery.
Those involved in Sunday's event hope it is the beginning of a yearly borough party that locals can get excited about.
