The manager of the New Brooklyn Deli in Bushwick is offering discounts of up to 20% as a way for the community to stick together during the coronavirus pandemic. 

Husam Mohsin says he's been preparing for the pandemic for months now, stocking up key items people say they can't find in grocery stores - like toilet paper and water.

He says he's been seeing an increase in business recently because of the pandemic and he wants to do everything he can to help the community at this time. He even says he's been in contact with other bodegas to encourage them to do something similar, saying that unity among businesses right now is important. 

"We always try to always be helpful to the community that's around us, specifically the neighborhoods. People are staying home now so we’re trying to find positive energy,” said Mohsin. 

Mohsin says he plans to implement the discount until the outbreak dies down. He says he will continue doing his part to help the community.
