Prosecutor: 3-year-old boy killed, mother seriously injured in dog attack

The Middlesex prosecutor has confirmed that a 3-year-old boy was killed and his mother seriously injured following an attack by two dogs in Carteret.

The Middlesex prosecutor has confirmed that a 3-year-old boy was killed and his mother seriously injured following an attack by two dogs in Carteret.
Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone says that the attack happened around 4:30 p.m. Monday in the area of Laurel Street.
The prosecutor did not release many details about the attack, including the breeds of the dogs involved.
Carteret Mayor Dan Reiman wrote about the attack on Twitter.
"Our prayers are with the family affected by a dog attack at a private residence on Laurel St. Thank you to the first responders who rushed in to attend to the victims,” Reiman wrote.
