Parents in Riverdale are outraged after a controversial announcement about the future of P.S. 24.
They have been informed that the lease for the Whitehall Annex building has not been renewed after expiring in June. The building holds some classrooms for fifth-graders at the school.
Officials say the Department of Education has been negotiating the lease for nearly two years and are continuing to negotiate.
Officials also say they are looking into how to fit more students into the main building of P.S. 24 if the Whitehall Annex building is no longer a part of it.
