Rent Is Too Damn High Party founder runs for president
Jimmy McMillan, the Rent is too Damn High Party founder who previously ran for New York City mayor, announced that he is running in the 2016 presidential race.
McMillan, a resident of the East Village, unsuccessfully ran in 2012 as well.
When asked by News 12 why he was running, McMillan replied, "Same reason I went to Vietnam. To help straighten the mess out over there, because the enemy was coming in and we needed to try and stabilize that region."
He's not running on the Rent Is Too Damn High ticket, however. This time McMillan is vying for the Republican nod.
