Bronx residents hit the pools on Wednesday to beat the heat.
Park officials say the Van Cortlandt Park Pool was filled to capacity Wednesday afternoon.
Lines for the second wave of swimmers and sun bathers were just as long as residents prepared to cool off.
City pools are open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. with a one-hour break between 3 p.m. and 4 p.m.
Wednesday was day one in a potential heat wave this week. Temperatures were in the low-90s with high humidity.
The rest of the week is expected to be just as hot and humid with a chance for showers on Saturday and Sunday.
