Residents recognized for Henry Hudson Park cleanup
A group of Spuyten Duyvil residents were recently recognized for their volunteer work in their community.
The Stewards of Henry Hudson Park meet every Saturday to get their hands dirty with soil and make the park better than they left it previously.
Landscaper Daniel Reynolds moved to the community and wanted to take the park steps away from his home to its fullest potential. With the help of a few volunteers, they began to gather every Saturday for some maintenance and ground work.
The work they do changes with the seasons. In the summer, they prepare gardens and flowers. During the fall, they say they bring bigger groups to help with cleanup and falling leaves.
The group was recently awarded for their efforts by Councilman Andrew Cohen.
The volunteers meet every Saturday from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.
