Bronx residents are preparing for the season's first round of winter weather.
Shoppers hit Van Nest Hardware Saturday to stock up on supplies to clear the snow and slush from sidewalks and driveways.
Store owners say they typically sell a lot of ice melter and have it in different varieties. They tell News 12 that residents should pick up shovels and ice melter ahead in the storm, and for easier cleanup to get a snow blower.
News 12 meteorologists say the storm that's hitting the area Sunday into Monday will bring snow to areas north of New York City. The borough is currently expected to get a slushy coating of snow Sunday before a changeover to rain, followed by another slushy coating on Monday.
