Rikers correction officer shot dead in Brooklyn
An off-duty New York correction officer who worked at Rikers for less than a month was found shot to death inside her car in Brooklyn, police say.
Alastasia Bryan, 25, was found with multiple gunshot wounds to her head and body inside of her car on East 73rd Street and Avenue L in Flatlands Sunday around 9:30 p.m. 
Police say the suspected gunman pulled up to Bryan's car in another vehicle before getting out and opening fire. 
They say Bryan is from East New York and was working on Rikers Island for about a week. She was pronounced dead at the scene. 
Police are still looking for the gunman.
