The Riverdale Neighborhood House hosted a spring event this weekend to help Bronx residents learn how they can get their hands on healthy food.

Riverdale Community Supported Agriculture, or CSA, hosted its "Meet Our Farmers and Celebrate Local Farming" spring event.

The CSA says it has roughly 80 households participating in its program. Participants pay $560 to purchase a share of harvest fruits and veggies for 20 weeks. It comes out to about $28 a week.

The produce comes from area farms, like Hawthorne Valley Farm upstate. The program provides access to fruits, cheeses, bread and veggies.

On Sunday, the CSA invited the community to learn more about how neighbors can support local farming that brings fresh, organically grown produce right to them by joining the CSA.

Organizers say the goal is to create a food system that is not harmful to the planet.
