A disaster relief center is now open in The Bronx to help homeowners, tenants and businesses impacted by Hurricane Sandy.

The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has teamed up with the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) to help victims apply for government aid at the Bronx County Courthouse building.

The Bronx Overall Economic Development Corporation says that although the borough didn't get the most physical storm damage, the economic damage is still estimated to be in the millions of dollars. Several area businesses took a huge hit, including popular City Island restaurant Tony's Pier, whose owners say rebuilding will cost about $1.5 million.

The center is open at least through the end of the week from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. Officials say that anyone who thinks they may qualify for aid, even with insurance, should go speak to a representative as soon as possible.
