Santa visits NY Institute for Special Education
Students at the New York Institute for Special Education received a special Christmas surprise with a visit from Santa Monday.
Hundreds of teas were given out at the event to the school's students who are living with autism, blindness and deafness.
Ever year the Sons of Italy, Bronx Roatry and Anthony's Flower Farm partner with Assemblyman Mark Gjonaj to pool together donations and buy the gifts for the special-needs children for the holiday season.
This is the eighth year that the event has taken place.
Liliana Pekic, from Assemblyman Gjonaj's office, told News 12 The Bronx that teachers have said that for many of these students, "This is the only present that they get for Christmas, and so they talk about it all year-round."
