Parents of children who attend an after school program in the Bronx are concerned about safety after the school was flooded with sewage.

Parents say they were shocked Monday when they discovered puddles of urine and feces backed up into the halls of the Blue Feather Early Learning Center.

"They don't know not to pick something up on the floor and eat it," Jennifer Valentin says.

The program for autistic students is run by AHRC New York City, but it is located inside of the Pelham Parkway Houses.

"It's only recently that we've had some recurring issues with the plumbing in the building," a staff member says. 

The plumbing issues have suspended after school activities several times, but employees say they are working with NYCHA to prevent further flooding.
