Snow gets intense across the Bronx
Bronx residents were ready for the nor'easter that slammed the borough Thursday.
Snow began falling in the Bronx just after 5 a.m. Thursday.
The roadways were well coated by daybreak.
Local officials advised residents to stay off of the roads so that workers could treat them with salt and sand.
All New York City public schools are closed today, according to officials.
Those traveling outside are advised to wear multiple layers as temperatures are expected to tumble.
The storm is expected to bring between 5-8 inches of snow and high winds to the Bronx before tapering off around 4 p.m.
