Snow-covered fire hydrants stall FDNY
Officials are warning residents about possible delays for firefighters due to snow-covered fire hydrants throughout the city.
Firefighters were reportedly delayed in responding to a Manhattan emergency because they had to clear their way to a snow-covered fire hydrant there.
No injuries were reported in that incident.
Officials say residents should still not hesitate to call 911 if they have an emergency.
City crews are out clearing snow from fire hydrants, but residents can help by shoveling themselves.
